Dalhousie Peer Support Program

Have you been impacted by a medicalerror or adverse patient outcome & need support?

The Dalhousie Resident Affairs Office has launched a Resident Peer Support Program to provide CONFIDENTIAL help from fellow residents trained in providing peer support aligned with these basic elements:

  • Non-judgmental listening
  • Relatability
  • Problem solving guidance
  • Provision of resources

We know that healthcare team members and learners suffer following adverse events and even those with robust support networks stand to benefit from confidentially sharing their experiences with peers who can truly understand and empathize with the pain, stress, vulnerability and fear that are common reactions to these situations.
